2022 Lifetime Achievement Honoree
John O. Feighner.
Mr. Feighner is a shareholder and past managing partner of HallerColvin PC, 444 East Main Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46802. His law practice focuses on personal injury, wrongful death, product liability and commercial litigation. From 1977 until August 28, 2014, he also served as an Assistant Allen County Attorney representing the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and other county departments in state and federal courts.
Mr. Feighner is a 1969 graduate of Culver Military Academy where he was Captain of Troop B, Black Horse Troop. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Brown University in 1973 and graduated cum laude in 1976 from the Robert McKinney Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. |
Mr. Feighner is past State Chair of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America since 2001 and also Indiana Super Lawyers. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, Indiana State Bar Association and the Allen County Bar Association. He is a member and past-President of the Benjamin Harrison Chapter of the American Inns of Court. He is a past-President of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association 2011-2012. He has also served five terms on the Board of Trustees of the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and is a past-President of the Museum. He has been a lecturer on various trial topics for the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, and the Allen County, Indiana Bar Association.
Mr. Feighner has served three terms on the Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission and the Indiana Judicial Qualifications Commission.
He is married to Margy Feighner and they are the parents of Spencer and Betsy.

John O. Feighner, my law partner, has been an active member and leader of ITLA for more than 40 years. He has been and remains an effective advocate for ITLA causes with our Indiana legislators and Indiana executive branch leaders. He is well regarded and trusted by both political parties.
He has been active in LawPAC and its financial support to those recipients who are supportive and valuable to ITLA.
He served as ITLA President. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has served as its Indiana Chair. He is also a Fellow in the Indiana College of Trial Lawyers.
John has served multiple terms as a strong ITLA voice on the Indiana Supreme Court Judicial Nominating and Qualifications Commission. He continues to maintain an active trial practice for clients that need ITLA quality lawyers.
When John was last suggested for this nomination, he asked to be withdrawn because he thought others more worthy. It is now time for John to receive the 2022 Indiana Trial Lawyers Association Lifetime Achievement Award.
