2026 Max Goodwin Young Lawyer of the Year - Chase Wilson

Picture
Chase and his wife, Alyssa, live in Franklin Township with their two children, Wilder and Indiana, as well as their two dogs, Marvin and Rita. Chase is an admitted nerd and sports fanatic who played soccer and wrestled while attending East Central High School in St. Leon, IN.

He then attended from Indiana State University where he received his bachelors in legal studies and political science, with minors in Philosophy and Civic Leadership. During his time at Indiana State he met his now wife, Alyssa, and was a proud member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, serving as their Vice President for a year and being named Athlete of the Year three years in a row.

Upon graduation from undergrad Chase chose to attend the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law from which he graduated in 2016. During law school Chase worked as a certified legal intern for the Law Office of William W. Hurst, LLC. He graduated with a certificate in Corporate & Commercial law which aids him in interpreting insurance contract language.

Since graduating law school Chase has been an attorney at Hurst Limontes LLC where he represents clients who have been involved in auto accidents, slip & falls, negligent firearm discharge, residential fires, and constitution rights violations (excess force and denial/inadequate medical care under 42 U.S.C. §1983). Chase also enjoys insurance coverage disputes.

"For distinguished service to the citizens of Indiana and the United States as an outstanding young lawyer dedicated to protecting the rights of the injured under the laws of the State of Indiana and the United States of America"

Chase was nominated for the Max Goodwin Young Lawyer Award
by Katie Piscione.

The text of her nomination is below.

Chase served for years as the driving force behind the Young Lawyers Division of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, and under his leadership the YLD not only grew in size but became an integral and vibrant part of ITLA. Through his dedication, countless young lawyers found mentorship, guidance, and genuine community. Chase went so far as to secure sponsorship for the YLD, allowing the organization to expand its programming, host more events, and foster stronger professional bonds among its members.

Beyond the YLD, Chase is widely recognized as an exceptional mentor to young lawyers both within his own firm and across the Indiana plaintiffs’ bar. He is an active and generous contributor on the ITLA listserv, consistently sharing his work product and insights to assist others facing similar legal challenges. His commitment to advancing the law to benefit plaintiffs is further reflected in his service as amicus counsel in several high-profile cases, including Harjit Kaur v. Amazon, Inc., et al., which proceeded to both the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court.

Remarkably, despite his extensive service to ITLA, Chase continues to devote himself tirelessly to representing injured plaintiffs throughout the state of Indiana, achieving meaningful results for his clients. I have had the unique opportunity to observe Chase’s practice firsthand—both by working directly with him and alongside attorneys he has trained—and I can say without hesitation that I have learned more from Chase in the past few years than I think I did in all of law school.

In light of Chase’s transformative contributions to ITLA, his enduring leadership of the Young Lawyers Division, and his unwavering commitment to advocating for injured Plaintiffs, I can think of no individual more deserving of this award.

"Max Goodwin, an Indiana trial lawyer and past president of ITLA, had an untiring, unrelenting devotion to clients and their circumstances. He had a never-give-up attitude when it came to justice for his clients. His intelligent yet practical approach to legal and life problems made him the type of total person that all lawyers admire. He made us proud to be trial lawyers."
